About Dr. Chapman

Gary Chapman, DDS, is a seasoned orthodontist who leads ChapmanSmiles Orthodontics in Clackamas and Happy Valley, Oregon. Dr. Chapman grew up in the Bay area of California and attended Santa Clara University, majoring in Combined Science. He then traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, for his Dental training, graduating Magna cum Laude, top of his class from Creighton University Dental School. He received his orthodontic specialty degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and then decided to stay in the area to practice and raise the family.

The “kids” have grown up and left the nest several years ago. Carter is an analyst for AAA California, living in San Francisco. Victoria is finishing up her Master’s Degree in medical administration at PSU. Dr. Chapman is also proud of his two grandbabies, Ojas and Archer.

Most Spring through Fall weekends, you’ll find Dr. Chapman at the race track enjoying controlled, high-speed fun. He also is a volunteer instructor for Teen Street Survival, an educational opportunity for young drivers to learn advanced driving skills that may help them avoid a bad situation in their cars. In his spare time, he also enjoys white water rafting, camping, travel, and golf.

Dr. Chapman is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Clackamas Dental Society, and the Oregon Association of Orthodontists. To ensure contemporary knowledge in the latest innovations and techniques in the specialty of orthodontics, Dr. Chapman routinely attends continuing education.

He has been one of Oregon’s premier Orthodontists since 1989. Specializing in children, adolescent, and adult orthodontics, he offers superior, fast, more effective treatment.
