Three Reasons Chapman Smiles is the Right Choice!

Deciding to have your teeth straightened is a big decision. Time, money and commitment to the process have to be considered, but one of your most important decisions is who to go to for your orthodontic treatment. You may have seen that some dentists offer various versions of orthodontics. So you may be wondering if you should stick with your dentist or work with an orthodontist.

That’s an excellent question! Here’s why Chapman Smiles shines above the rest.

1. Orthodontists have specialized education and training

All orthodontists first graduate from dental school, then continue on with additional years of training in specialized orthodontic care.

Dr. Chapman attended Santa Clara University, majoring in Combined Science, before attending Creighton University Dental School where he graduated Magna cum Laude (That’s top of his class with honors!).

He went on to receive his orthodontic specialty degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. At OHSU, Dr. Chapman learned more about the bones and muscles of the face, jaw, teeth, and spine. Orthodontists like Dr. Chapman have the highest understanding of the very complex network that makes up your smile.

2. Orthodontists look at the full picture

Dentists focus on keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Orthodontists focus on your bite and the overall harmony of the bone structure in your mouth, jaw, neck, and face. Having a misaligned bite, which lots of us have, can cause problems like migraine headaches, grinding of your teeth, tooth loss, and even breathing difficulties and poor posture.

Dr. Chapman is trained to look at the root cause (a little dental humor there!) of your misalignment. He will create a plan to not only give you a beautiful smile but a healthier life!

3. You benefit from our specialization

From our highly-trained orthodontic assistants to our treatment and financial coordinators, every member of the Chapman Smiles team understands the importance of dental health and the benefits of orthodontic treatment.

We spend our time every day working on orthodontics and have successfully treated over fifteen thousand patients of all ages. This has given us the experience to understand your unique case.

It’s not uncommon for patients to come to us after unsuccessful orthodontic treatments from other sources. If treatment is not thorough enough, your teeth can move, and you can be in the same spot you were in before you started. Dr. Chapman and his team know that orthodontics is not about a quick cosmetic fix. They take the time to do it right, helping you achieve optimum health – and a pretty smile!
