Day One With Insignia Braces!

I am now the proud owner of a set of Insignia Braces!  Insignia is the latest and greatest technology for braces.  I was pretty nervous at my appointment yesterday, and made sure to take some Advil before I went in!   Once I arrived, I was greeted and taken into the treatment area to begin the process.  I had some sort of apparatus put into my mouth to allow me to open wide and give Dr. Chapman access to all my pearly whites!  Sharla, one of his assistants, was so nice and friendly and immediately put me at ease. She prepped me by cleaning my teeth and applying glue!  No, not Elmers, but some high-pro dental glue.  Dr. Chapman then stepped in and placed my new braces on my teeth.

Once they were all placed, I was allowed to go an rinse, and got a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Oh boy! The upper braces are clear and are actually not that obvious. The lowers are the traditional metal look. I had to laugh as the upper set had little colored dots on them. For a moment, I thought that was how I was going to look, until someone enlightened me that those were there to help place them correctly on my teeth. Ohhhhhhh, that makes more sense! I was given all the DO’s and DON’T’s for my new braces, and left pretty excited to see how this adventure will turn out! I have complete confidence in Dr. Chapman and his team and can’t wait to see the end results!

Why Would My Child Need Expanders Before Braces?

Your child’s jaw structure can significantly affect how their adult teeth come in. A jaw that’s too small can mean teeth that are overcrowded, overlapped, out of alignment, or even trapped under the gumline.
